Settings for Android Mobile Devices

It is strongly recommended to use IMAP protocol with all mobile devices. Please note that pictures below may differ from your screen depending on your device.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Choose Accounts  and Add Account.
  3. Choose IMAP.


Write your (whole) email address and click Next.


Fill the fields with incoming mail server settings as demonstrated in the picture below. Your Username is the whole email address.

Check that you have correct values in the following fields:
Server: mail.avaruus.net
Port: 993
Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)

Then, click Next.


Next, fill the fields with outgoing mail server settings as demonstrated in the picture below. The field SMTP Server is the name of the SMTP server provided usually by your own Internet provider.

Below is a list of SMTP servers of some of the most used Finnish Internet operators. If your operator is not listed, please contact the operator to get instructions.

  • Elisa: smtp.kolumbus.fi
  • Sonera: mail.inet.fi
  • DNA: smtp.dnainternet.net
  • Welho: smtp.welho.com
  • PPO: smtp.kotinet.com

Check that you have correct values in the following fields:
Port: 25
Security Type: None
Require sign-in: Disabled / not checked

Then, click Next.


Now, if you want, you may be able to adjust other settings for your client, too. Click Next.


Your account should have been created on your device and you should be able to use it. Add your full name, which shows up on other users, and you are finished. Click Next.
